Happy Easter!

We had a wonderful Easter weekend. Our church had a weekend revival meeting with the Dan Durkee family with good attendance and a good spirit in the services.
Shayla enjoyed finding her Easter basket and discovering all the goodies in there. She was not real impressed with the hat--wouldn't leave it on for any more than 15 seconds! (I was able to capture one half-way decent shot of her wearing her hat before she pulled it off.) Oh well, it was cute while it lasted.

This is what I got when I said, "Smile!"

Snow Days

Unfortunately, my posts are always a little behind the actual happenings around here (unlike the rest of you efficient bloggers), so while we are finally enjoying some spring-like weather around here today, you can see what was going on here last weekend. Shayla enjoyed her first sled ride on Saturday, and we canceled our church services on Sunday. They were reporting anywhere from 15-20 inches around the city. Quite a major storm--especially for Columbus.

Where's the road?

A Quick, but Enjoyable Trip!

At the end of February, we were privileged to take a quick trip to Colorado!! It was a rather quick trip, but so much fun! Ben had been shopping around for a mini van for us, and he found one for a good price . . . in Colorado! We were more than glad to take the opportunity to take a little "mini vacation" to go and pick up the van. We flew out on Monday morning and returned Thursday. We tried to split up the traveling days on the way back home, so that Shayla could survive the car seat. She did so well! She absolutely loved the airplane ride and did excellent all those hours buckled in her seat--hardly complained. We enjoyed a part of a day at Focus on the Family in Colorado Springs and then stopped in St. Louis and went to the top of the arch--quite a view! The van got us home safe and sound, and so far, we are very satisfied with it.

Ready for take-off!

Allison Brooke!

My brother and sister-in-law, Scot and Amber, had a little girl on February 11: Allison Brooke-- 8 lbs., 2 oz., 21 1/2 inches. She is such a sweet-heart, and we were able to take a couple of days to go see her. Shayla thought her new cousin was pretty neat, but didn't like it when "Baby" cried. Shayla is now having to share Grandma and Papa Muir with Allison, after having them all to herself for a year. So far, so good. Here are some pictures of our visit with everyone.
