A Day at the Zoo

In our "Kid's Church" we have been studying about "All God's Critters." So, this past Saturday, for a special treat for our children and teens, we rewarded their faithful attendance with a trip to the zoo. There were 23 of us--19 kids and 4 adults. We made a day of it and took packed lunches for all the kids. Everyone seemed to have a wonderful time. This was Shayla's first time at the zoo, and she thoroughly enjoyed seeing all the animals! She paid more attention to them than I thought she would.

Cousins and Company

COUSINS
A little over a week ago, Shayla got to see and play with her cousins (Ben's brother's kids) at Grandma and Grandpa Blowers' house. It had been a while since we had all been together, so we really enjoyed our time! It was a beautiful day, so we took advantage of it, and the kids had a blast playing outside most of the day.

COMPANY
Last weekend we had a Friday-Sunday revival meeting with the Marshalls. Shayla really fell in love with them, and I think the feelings were mutual. In fact one afternoon, I was working in the kitchen, and Rev. Marshall was rocking Shayla and I heard him singing to her, "You are my sunshine, my only sunshine . . . " It was so sweet! For some strange reason, Shayla called the Marshalls "Batches" . . . that name just might stick for a lifetime! :-)
