It's so hard to believe, but on January 23rd Shayla celebrated her first birthday. We had a party for her the previous Saturday with lots of church people and family. She enjoyed herself for the most part. Touching the cake was the exception! You can see by the pictures it caused much distress when her fingers touched the messy icing!

It's hard to believe that she's getting that big already! Seems like just yesterday that we got the news that Shayla had arrived.

How cute! It's so funny how we parents have these ideas for what our kids must do!! Jennifer bawled her head off when we had her eat her cake and Brooklynn thought she had hit the jackpot! Iciing evvverrryyywhere! It MUST be done though!! :-)
